The Center for Public Safety (CPS) works with the general public to meet challenges related to public safety matters and to improve the quality of life for all with a focus spanning GBV issues and Domestic Terrorism (DT) threats stemming from bias related to gender or sexual orientation and other DT threats.
A CPS Case Study on the City of Oakland was featured in A City's Journey to Smart Solutions, which was the first article series written in Homeland Security Today, the top publication for the homeland security community.
This 5-part article series provided a deep dive the public safety crisis in Oakland and the devastating impacts of anti-Asian hate crimes in Oakland Chinatown. This investigative study by CPS lead to an investigation of a city councilmember, while also offering many teachable moments for other cities looking to balance privacy, security and public safety in the future smart city.
eGirl Power is an IRS-approved 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to "Educate, Empower, and Elevate" the youth through leadership skills development and career exploration with a focus on Cybersecurity and STEM.
